Moral rules

Wisdom and prudence
Take absolutely nothing seriously (not even these moral rules) except the suffering of living beings.
Do not be absolutely sure of any truth or of being right in any matter.
Consider that good and evil are not absolute, but always relative to the satisfaction of someone's needs or desires.
In evaluating good and evil in anything, take into account the interests of the human species as well as those of individuals.
Consider that every truth is partial and susceptible to being replaced by a more credible or more satisfying truth.
Consider that the unconscious influences the conscious self, pursuing ends that sometimes conflict with conscious ones.
Consider that everyone is right from his or her own point of view and that everyone sees reality in his or her own way.
Consider that we are all affected by cognitive bias.
Consider that beauty, goodness and truth are independent and unrelated. In fact, what is beautiful is not necessarily true or good, and vice versa.
Science and kowledge
Increase your scientific and humanistic knowledge in order to correct your shortcomings, improve your relationships with others and better contribute to the common good.
Question and verify your own ideas and those of others, and discard those that are contradicted by actual facts.
Teach your children and those who follow you to disagree with anyone who makes unfounded claims, including yourself.
Do not passively accept traditions, fashions, religions and the mass media, but critically examine them to evaluate their effects.
Consider that the fact that a large number of people believe certain things does not imply that what they believe is true.
Do not spread unreliable, unfounded or erroneous news or theories. Before reporting news, verify the reliability of the source, and if verification is impossible, do not spread it.
Obligations and responsibilities
Always be sincere, except in cases where your sincerity might be harmful.
Keep your commitments, except in cases where doing so would be harmful.
Do not make promises you are not sure you can keep.
Accept and respect private property and economic disparities if they are the result of honest and legal activities.
Treat all human beings with respect, fairness, honesty and equity. Recognize equal rights and dignity to everyone regardless of his or her views and background.
Everyone is responsible not only for the evil he does, but also for the good he does not do to others.
Be aware of the consequences of your actions and non-actions, for others and for you.
Everyone is civilly and morally responsible for his own behavior, even if it is the same as that of most people.
Environnement and ecology
Respect the natural and urban environment, and help keep them healthy and clean.
Defend the natural and urban environment from those who pollute, deface or impoverish them, and report abuses to the proper authorities.
Take care of public property as if it were your own private property.
Try to leave the environment better than you found it.
Keep yourself informed about environmental problems and the risks of ecological damage.
Adjust your consumption and behavior to the ecological conditions of the planet.
Prohibitions and limits
Do not do to others what you would not want done to you.
Do not do things that, if everyone did, would harm society or the natural environment.
Do not harm anyone, except where doing so is necessary to prevent greater harm or injustice.
Do not make anyone feel inferior to you in any matter. Avoid competing directly with others on wisdom, morality, intellect, ability, etc., but compete with yourself to improve yourself.
Do not despise or deride anyone for reasons such as: skin color, ethnicity, origin, religion, sexual orientation, intellectual ability, health, physical appearance, social class, etc.
Do not beget children unless you are able to devote sufficient time and energy to them, and to ensure that they have what they need for healthy and peaceful growth.
Support birth restriction to reduce overpopulation on the planet.
Freedom and rights
Everyone has the right to disagree with you and have a different lifestyle from you, as long as their behavior is not harmful.
Everyone has the right to have a private sphere, and secrets from each other. No one can be forced to reveal his secrets.
Everyone has the right to choose with whom to interact and with whom not to interact, except for legal obligations.
Human beings can freely negotiate the moral rules of their interactions as long as they do not harm third parties.
Everyone has the right not to love or to stop loving someone or something, since love is an involuntary feeling.
Every woman has the right to have an abortion by her sole decision.
Everyone has the right to end their own life when they see fit.
Everyone has the right to enjoy their sexuality, whatever their preferences, as long as no one is harmed or forced into unwanted relationships.
Justice and judgments
Do not overestimate or underestimate yourself. If someone criticises you, do not reject it out of hand, but examine it without prejudice to see if it is justified.
Consider that no living being has chosen its nature, nor is it free to want what it wants, nor to feel what it feels, nor to know what it knows.
Obey the laws of the state in which you live, except where to do so would be harmful. Pay the tributes due to you according to your earnings and possessions.
Tolerate those who are less intelligent than you, for no one is responsible for his own degree of intelligence.
Do not tolerate anyone committing lawlessness or injustice, and contribute to the application of justice according to the laws of the state in which you live.
No one should be judged for his or her alleged ideas or intentions, but only for his or her actions.
Cooperazione e partecipazione
Do not regard others as means to satisfy your needs without compensation, but cooperate with others for mutual satisfaction.
Repay people individually, and society in general, for what you have received from them, as far as you can.
Do not expect from others what they are unable to do or understand.
Participate in an informed and responsible way in the political life of your city and state.
Support policies that serve the general interest of the population rather than the interest of particular groups.
Support policies that give everyone equal opportunities for education and health care.
Support policies that limit scientific and technological research so that it does not pose a danger to the environment or democracy.
Competizione e conflitti
Competition among human beings must be open, fair and respectful of the dignity of less competitive people.
In conflicts with others, seek, through dialogue and negotiation, a peaceful compromise solution as far as possible.
In conflicts with others, avoid using aggressive, hostile, offensive, mocking attitudes, and remember that calm is the virtue of the strong.
If you are offended by someone, do not react impulsively but rationally assess the meaning and weight of the alleged offense so that your response is proportionate and appropriate.
In conflicts with others, also consider the interests and views of your antagonists.
Do not be guided by your own envies and jealousies.
